BBC Alba – The Loss on Islay’s Shores
We were commissioned by Caledonia TV to create a set of animations to illustrate the tragedies that occurred on the Scottish Island during WW1, the documentary was broadcast on BBC Alba.
The director and producers wanted the animations to be as realistic and dramatic as possible to accurately convey what the men would have experienced.
This was achieved by going for a cinematic approach when creating the visuals but also through the sound design we produced.
We had access to accurate navigate maps of the time which enabled us to accurately create maps of some of the events that occurred which we overlayed 2d & 3d content.
It was important that all the GFXs felt cohesive and historically correct when representing all the tragic events that took place.
